(almost) everything I bought in May was on sale or secondhand
a month of shopping madness!

It started at the Current Affair show. First, I dressed up in my new skirt because my daughter insisted and who am I to say no to a 3 year old in a sparkly dress?! After driving down Laurel Canyon (which she calls a ‘spooky forest’), on an overcast morning, we walked in and I had to learn how to corral her and fight my way through the racks at James Veloria. I ended up with a CDG cargo skirt, JPG leather jacket, and Vivienne Westwood tank.
We walked around for a bit longer and I added a fresh Jil Sander white button down to my haul along with another leather jacket.
My next round of secondhand buys were online and sponsored by my Real Real store credit (happy 15th of the month to all who celebrate). A Prada leather skirt and tube top. TRR is where I source about 90% of my Miu Miu and Prada clothes. Reminder to utilize their saved search tool!
And lastly, my dear friend Hey Mrs. Solomon on Style came into town and we popped into Scout where I got a cropped tee and sleeveless sweatshirt (my least expensive purchases around $30 each).
The Net sale was so good it was daunting, but I snagged this Versace skirt and vest immediately. I walked away from this Martine polo at Dover Street because it wasn’t my size, but luck was on my side and I found it on sale later.
There are exceptions to every rule, so here’s a breakdown of the full-priced goods. This Staud set was a last-minute bachelorette panic buy I was certain I’d return — very incorrect assumption by me. The Tibi Winslows were full price and I have zero regrets. The “almost” is also there because Rachel and I had a little too much fun at Dover Street- see video below for the haul.
My sleep has been terrible lately and it’s stressing me out. I’m rebooting with Magnesi-Om mixed into my tea (getting the unflavored so I can throw a scoop into water, too), this red light device around my back for recovery from picking up two kids all day, and writing out a physical to-do list of what needs to be done the next day so I can lessen the anxious middle of the night thoughts.
Two exciting new (but very different) launches on June 1- Reformation x Courtney Grow (ed. note- I bought this dress, these sandals and this very cool windbreaker) and Marc Jacobs beauty on Sephora. Different aesthetics, but both very fun.
Worth noting that my favorite Tibi purchase of the year is on sale. I wear these at minimum 2x a week. So many other great things on sale, too, don’t forget to browse by size. Sadly the blazer I want is not included, but isn’t it great?
More on this in another letter, but I’m on the hunt for a new go-to pair of jeans. Ordered this pair and this one.

·playing dress up via this mildly insane shoe purchase & skirts. YES, they look a little (okay, a lot) like toddler shoes. YES, my actual toddler instantly tried to steal them for herself. There’s something whimsy but cool about them that I just love. Also, I mentioned in my last letter than I bought
asking cool girls about their white tees so you don't have to
·When I realized I needed a bit of an overhaul of my white tees (as in, I needed to invest in ones that actually fit), I consulted my friends. Specifically, fashionable friends who wear them well. Janelle Taylor pairs hers with silky pants and boat totes for mom duty,
