beyond basic: the everyday pieces I'm upgrading

Sometimes you think you’ve found the one and then you find something better.

white tees- You know I’m loyal to this one, but this is a more sophisticated option with a longer length and less boxy fit.

Black Sandals- I’m a big flip-flop girl, but sometimes I need a little boost! That’s where these come in. Fancier than a flat sandal but not as dressy as a heel, they pair well with baggier bottoms.

jeans- Denim is so personal and I’m always going to be on the hunt for that perfect pair, but I’ve been loving this casual, faded pair by MOTHER and these for a dark wash option (see also: the Tibi Indigo Sid jeans, which are a heavier weight option).

outerwear, but make it summer- I’m not a huge blazer person (they feel a little dressy for L.A. and a leather jacket is more durable for everyday), but the Liam blazer is the perfect answer to a summer layer. The only reason I haven’t pulled the trigger is that I can’t decide between black or navy. Another lightweight layering piece I love- this Still Here trench. Perfect for summer travel.

sweats- I really admire people who always make an effort to look nice when they’re at home (to this day I’ve never seen my mom in sweats) but my current phase of life calls for comfy clothes past 5pm- especially for bath time with two kids. That being said, sometimes these pieces get a little too worn in. I’ll be investing in these shorts and the off-shoulder version of my favorite hoodie. Bonus- these Collina Strada sweatshorts and the matching hoodie for a more fashion-forward approach (i.e. I will happily run around in public in this set even if they’re technically sweats).

underneath- Do not sleep on Negative! I really can’t say enough good things about this brand. Favorite underwear and the best lightweight sleep sets.
