the weekly edit, vol. 1.
Live from Rodeo Drive
Ed. note: Okay, so I’ve been having way too much fun creating these little weekly edits on ShopMy and then I realized.. why am I not sharing them here? This newsletter was born out of my love for browsing new arrivals and curating the best of the best. I’m excited to have a new series to do simply that. I’m also discussing my experience looking at Matthieu Blazy’s Chanel this week, in case you’re curious about shopping the new collection as a non-VIP walking into a store without an appointment (oops!)
New-to-me brand: Meryll Rogge- I discovered her designs while browsing the new arrivals on Shopbop and ended up ordering this graphic tee.
A full fit- These crepe shorts paired with this tank. I’m loving this unexpected color combination right now.
The most stunning bag- OMG. Wow. I am always floored by the stunning designs that come from the Loewe x Paulas collab but this one might be an all-time favorite. Absolute perfection.
Cute kids clothes- Always found here. My daughter loves olives and this dress was a must for her summer wardrobe.
Party shoes- An amazing moment for confetti. Haven’t decided if I would actually wear them yet but they would certainly dress up your favorite pair of denim shorts or a simple white dress.
Speaking of shorts- These from Sandy Liang. Polished but not preppy and easy to wear. And some easy post-beach throw on (under $100) shorts here.
Jewelry that’s not crazy expensive- this cord necklace! Could easily just use the pendant and replace the cord with something more colorful, too.
Someone buy this vintage Chanel skirt! Love this pattern.
Remind me of the best Dries piece I’ve ever owned and am very passionate about (& can never find anything comparable to share until now)- these wide-leg jeans.
A swimsuit that you can comfortably wear around your in-laws. Thank me later. Black basics- Probably a bit niche at this time of year but I finally found a great pair of black jeans here. AGOLDE and Citizen are my go-tos for denim lately. Also of note- this backless bodysuit is GOOD! (size down if you’re between sizes).
Nobody asked, but I finally bought the Liam blazer. I truly love it. I’m so excited to style it and already have a million ideas. It is lightweight and such a perfect summer layer.
Silver shoes- Sold these (too heavy, but they are very cool), bought these sneakers and these wedges.
I’ve been on the hunt for a supportive, wire-free bra to wear under white tanks and I’ve heard amazing things about EBY’s new sheer bralette (ordered it in nude and black, will keep you updated!) Reminder we have a code- LIZ15.
The best lip product I’ve been sent in ages!! Glossy and moisturizing and color that stays.
I did a little IRL shopping this week at one of my favorite L.A. landmarks (Rodeo Drive), mostly because I wanted to see the new Chanel collection(s). I really appreciate the artistry behind some of the color combinations and fun takes on two things I love- the beach (see: the mermaid tail heels) and New York City (see: the apple shoes!). They didn’t have the shoes I was looking for, but they did have these stunners- so cool for a bridal moment.
Unsurprisingly, it was a little Hunger Games- esque. Every time I was able to take a look at one of the new pieces, I felt like I was on a playground where kids were impatiently waiting for their turn to play with the shiny new toy. People hovered around me, asking if I was going to buy said item(s) within seconds.
The craziest/best piece I saw was this clownfish coin purse (or airpod case). As someone with a daughter who went through a big Nemo phase it was TEMPTING, but I just couldn’t do it.
I am very excited about what I ended up taking home- this kelly green vanity on chain.
Further down Rodeo, I popped into a few more stores for window shopping. It’s hard not to smile walking into the Loewe store- it’s always filled with color and beautiful floral displays! This little hedgehog bag charm and striped puzzle bag caught my eye. Prada didn’t have a ton of exciting new arrivals, save for these sandals.
New Tibi Fundamentals!!! The absolute last thing my wardrobe needs is another pair of red pants and yet here I am wanting these.
Leset dropped their June collection! Loving the daffodil yellow pieces, especially this tank.
Reformation x Umbro collection drops Monday- comprised of six sporty summer pieces, I especially love that they shot the campaign with Devon Lee Carlson.
Sephora Summer Sale is on! Great time for a restock. My cart is filled with my favorite shampoo, purple shampoo, conditioner, and hair mask.
Finding the perfect pair of black heels can be a challenge but I may have found them with these!
thank you for reading! please tap the heart below if you enjoyed.
xx, Liz
P.S.- Happy Father’s Day to the two dads who read this letter! (my dad and my husband)
